I have a ‘Play The Melody’ philosophy. It means don’t over-arrange, don’t make life difficult. Just play the melody and do it the simplest way possible.
I have found this to be true in my battle against my fibromyalgia. If I spend too much time worrying about things I can’t control or pondering what the future holds, then my pain is worse and I feel worse and more depressed. If I stay in the moment and am mindful on my body’s needs, then the pain is less — or at least it stays at a more even level with fewer highs and lows. Things are the best when I am present and mindful in this moment, not worrying about the next moment. It’s easy to lose yourself in worries and fears. It’s easiest to stay on the right path — the path toward a healthier life — when you focus on the now and not on the what ifs and the things you can’t control. This is a hard skill to learn and I still struggle with it but I’m getting much better at it.
